How to start a fundraiser
Musicians create, fans donate, charities benefit, everyone wins!
Thank you for considering Play it Forward for your music fundraiser. Our platform provides musicians with a unique opportunity to promote their music, grow their audience, and support the charities they believe in. Our mission is to empower musicians and fans to make the world a better place. Below, you'll find the four simple steps to get your fundraiser started.
1. Create your artist or band page
Create your artist’s page and share information about you or your band. You’ll also need an image to represent your band.
2. Choose a charity for your fundraiser
Once you have your artist page setup you can create fundraisers to support any charity of your choice. The charity must be a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Confirm your charity’s status here.
3. Upload your original music or audio
Have MP3 or WAV audio files of your original music ready to upload to your fundraiser. You can create a fundraiser for a single song, a full album, or even a concert recording. You will need to create a zip file of your music to upload. You can also upload a short clip of your music so fans can have a preview before downloading.
4. Fans donate and download music
Spread the word on your music and and share a link to fundraiser page. If fans choose to donate and download your music, 100% of the their donation will be contributed to your charity of choice, with the exception of approximately 2-3% of the donation that is deducted by our 3rd party credit card processor.
